Tutorial Tuesday: How to Clean Up a Backdrop in Photoshop
Welcome to this Tuesday Tutorial on How to Clean Up a Backdrop in Photoshop! I love using Savage Seamless Backdrop Paper– It’s a simple way to get a clean, wrinkle-free look. It doesn’t bunch up on the ground like fabric does, and it’s easy to customize with digital backdrops. Even though it comes in a HUGE roll, I love using big sections of it at a time, and so I try to make it last as long as possible by allowing it to get a bit dirty before I cut a section off. Here’s a step by step tutorial of how I clean the backdrop up in post-production.
This is especially helpful since I do both Maternity Photos (where clients step on the backdrop with their dirty shoes) and Newborn Portraits. This becomes an essential tool during newborn sessions since baby is generally in a basket or on a bed right where all of the dirty shoe marks are.
